97 mirage tranny swap !

well, heres the deal. ive got a 97 mirage, de, 4 spd auto. and i was wondering how hard it would be to swap it out to a manny tranny. do i need a different ecu, or intake, or flywheel? anyone one know where i could get parts for this? any help is greatly appreciated

yes, you can swap.
you dont need to switch the ecu or motor harness, because you can just modify it to work with the manual tranny. but.....getting a 5speed manual motor harness and ecu would be best.

the automatic trans works off a computer thats located under your stereo mounted to the floor. the 5speed tranny doesnt use a computer because your controlling the shifting

basicly its easy if you know what your doing. if you are wondering if you can do it or not, you probably cant. guessing or wondering is not a good sign.

well...the things you would need is:
-5speed tranny
-flywheel
-new motor mounts (recomended)
-pedels
-shifting cables
-shifter and the center section where it sits
-axels (not sure if its nessesary)

im not sure if im missing anything. but thats what i come up with right off hand.

Hey man im wanting to do the same thing. I do know that any 4g tranny will fit in a 4g motor. i have a 97 mirage myself that is a 4 speed auto. its an ls. if you find out any additional info lemme know bro. thanks.

a 97 mirage is a 5g not 4g,just to let u know.

to do the 5spd swap u need

5spd tranny
clutch pedal assembly
shifter and cable
clutch cylinder
clutch slave
flywheel
clutch kit
wire harness is best option instead of cutting through ur stock wires
u ca use your axles a/t and 5spd is the same.
