Is $1800 a good deal for an 81 RX-7 in great shape?
Actually, I found two of them. $1800 each. One is brown with no rust and the 12a motor. The only thing wrong with it is the button for the passenger side window doesn't work and the front end needs an alignment. The other one is red, is an 82 model and needs a little work. It has some rust and has a dent on the driver side front fender. The brown one has 87,000 miles and the red one has 77,000 miles. I don't know anything about the rotary motors so if anyone can direct me into the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Jim |

It depends on your definition of great shape. Take it to a Mazda mechanic, and see what he thinks. If he gives the go ahead, get the nice one. It's only worth 1200-1500 btw.
I am getting an 81 with leather seats for $300CDN(about 200US). Then again, it has a frapped motor and a busted steering column. Then again, I can put the nice seats in the 924... Then again, I'm replacing the motor with the second largest smallblock ever to roll out off an assembly line...
