94 olds 98

i have problems with the car cutting off and stalling out. I took it to a mechanic and he said it has the old obd computer. he pulled code P1629 PASSKEY FUEL ENABLE CIRCUIT. I tried different key and cleaned ignition. still does same thing. any advice? It starts right back up after it stalls. sometimes even going down the road it shuts off and then will come right back. VERY SCARY! I am thinking about a coil pack for 25.00 but it seems to me that a coil pack would not cut the car off while driving down the road and then start right back up. And what is this PASSKEY code?

Welcome to AF. Once running the VATS should not affect the car, check for spark and fuel pressure when it dies, assuming it won't restart, you failed to mention the operating symptoms.
