Unhappy battery wen dead

i have 2001 sebring lx and batery wen dead . i drove the car battery was fine
and wen i was done from working i tried to start the car there was nothing friend boost it it started wen i was driving i notice the battery light was on but i have a volt meter gauge in the car it show 14 + but bouncing wen i got home there was nothing i out booster on it and still cliking >????? the only thing i had on was the defrost adn car radio i know the radio is not the problem can it be the drfrost stay on >???? need help on this issue

I bet dollars to doughnut's the batt is bad. Swap it out with a loaner. Bet all is good. If all goes away then it's your alt. A bad, or shorting out batt, will do some odd stuff.
