Which power steering pump do I need?
1999 Grand Am 3.4L Auto. I need to replace my growling power steering pump but I don't know if I have variable assist or not. One place I looked for the pump list a "NV7" code for variable assist. How can I find out if this code is on my car? The VIN doesn't seem to carry that info...
How can I tell? The pump does have an electrical connector on it. Does that make the difference? |

Re: Which power steering pump do I need?
Look under the spare tire cover for the list of option codes for your car. It'll be on a sticker on the back side of the cover.
