gas smell

i smell gas on the inside of my 94 regency when parked but i have no leaks that i have seen inside the motor compartment and for sure no drips on the ground sometimes the smell is noyhing and other times pretty strong

Could be an exhuast leak or a vacuum leak as well. Or your O2 sensor or CTS is faulty and telling the PCM to run the motor too rich on fuel.

the proiblem was the test port under the fuel pressure regulater which looks like a valve stem was loose a couple of turns i lucked out. at first when the leak became bad enough where i could see dripping i thought it was the f.p.r. but it seems to be fine now but thanks for at least one reply
