I would have given the world to you, but you were just too good for that. You brush me off and i only try harder, yet i refuse to be a part of your game this time. I dont hear you, your words, invisible, nothing but space to my eyes. You extend your hand, but i pretend not to see it, just like you pretended not to acknowledge me. Life sucks, thank you for making mine all the more clearer. Welcome to my world. |

the way of the lancer
this is a lancer evolution six you can tell from two three major things, one is that the rear wing (its not as tall as that of the evo 5 but is of the bi plane design, had to make it smaller due to the WRC regulations that were brought in for 98'), two is the front running lights (lower left and right corners) on the evolution 5 they were both bigger and closer to the center, I think about 5 cm closer to the center (2 inches), three the rims on the evolution 5 were the same as those currently used by team subaru on the new Impreza rally car (OZ split fork design 16, 17 or 18 inch not real sure of the size) any way my favorite is the evo 5 however i also love all lancers so thats why I know the suttle differences.
P.S. : if you ever drive one you'll notice that the final drive of the evo 6 is more set up for quick acceleration than that of the 5 (the 5 has 15 mph advantage in top speed roughly). well thats it for the major diffs.

Mucho Graci
Thanks alot guys. I dont know much about the Evo, I'm usually over at the acura RSX forum. How do the two cars compare?
I'm thinking of getting a new car year end and the RSX and Evo are at the top of my list. I think the Evo VII is out of my price range so i'm looking at like a IV, V or VI. What kinda price range am I looking at for a IV, V and VI evo? Thank again, Peace.

Can't get the other Evo's in the US, they're not out. But you can import them if you can get past emissions and other test before getting it in ;p
So if you don't have money for the LanEvo7, go for the RSX. |

So thats it
I've always seen y'all talk about the 'evo coming to the U.S.' and never really understood what you meant. I thought: 'why dont you just import it independently'. So now i understand that you cant get the evo in the U.S due to emisssion regs. What other cars cant you guys get up there.
As you might have guessed i'm not in the U.S. I'm in Jamaica. Evo's are a dime a dozen here (a bit of an exargeration, but we do have quite a good number of them here). I saw 3 different Evo VII's this week alone! Its a bit of a win/lose situation though. We can get the Evo in Jamaica but we dont have any of those big open highways where you can really let the car rip. On the other hand, you guys have the big wide open highways but you can't get the evo in the first place. My heart bleeds for you But dont get too sad .....i'll still be able to get one:flash: :flash: (sorry i had to rub it in!!) I'm looking at the Evo VI right now.....can anyone gimme a price range on an evo VI? Mucho graci peace!

3rd determinant of an Evo 6 over a 5 is that the 6 has the license plate in the front shifted to the left so that more air can come into the intercooler.

It's a EVO VI. Differences with the V are as mentioned, however the EVO VI comes with Madonna like "D cupholders". Most of us swap them for foggy's.

This is pretty much news to me. The EVO only came in LHD form as a RS with the short gearing: max kph = 180. The EVO VI RS2 came with the longer gearing in LHD: top speed 250 kph. The RS still reache 180 kph. Did some sprinttesting between a V and VI.... No difference. Prices 2nd hand for a VI are around EUR 41.000 - EUR 44.000 here, pending on milage and state of tuning. As the VII has recently been introduced here, there are some for sale now. Regards, Nico van Steen Netherlands (thats in Europe) |

Much Thanks
Much thanks for all the help guys.... In the mean time I found a company here in JA that will import a Evo VI for $JD 1.9 million and an Evo VII for $JD 2.3 Million. The exchange rate for jamaican to U.S. is about 1US: 47 Jamaican dollars so u all can do the math.
I much prefer acceleration in a car over top speed( but top speed has to be pretty respectable though). I read somewhere that the EVO VI and VII may actually have much more h.p. that the 280 thats stated by the company. In fact it just so happens that 280h.p is the legal limit for street cars in japan so even if the car had more power they would have to officially call it 280 anyway......is this true? (dont you guys find it a bit strange that the EVO VII has the same H.P. rating as the VI?!!) if it is true then i'm DEFINIETLY getting an evo!!!!
