95 Z34 Monte Carlo water leak

Ok I have a 95 Monte Carlo Z34 with a water leak. This is a strange leak. It literally just happened one evening. I noticed the temp gauge climbing quickly to hot. The next day it was fine until about 20 minutes into the driving. It got really hot really fast. Popping the hood water was steaming on the drivers side near the water neck. I cooled it down and poured water into the radiator but as soon as I filled the radiator it was gone. this leak not only leaks under pressure but also with the engine turned off and just filling it. Its almost like a freeze plug has popped. Can anyone help? The engine is quite complex but I am mechanically inclined. There is no drivability or power loss. no water or gas in the oil either no white smoke either. does nayone have detailed instructions to fix this?

Re: 95 Z34 Monte Carlo water leak

i had the same thing happen on my car. I found that a freeze plug had popped out. I'm not sure if it was a rubber-type plug or metal. I replaced it with a rubber type one. If you do this, read and follow the directions or it WILL pop out again. Also, if you use a rubber one, you'll have to notch-out your motor mount. Try looking right behind the drivers side front motor mount where it bolts to the head. It will have the freeze plug half covered up. there's also another one on the back of the other head.
