I have a 1987 auto. and i was wondering if i could convert the automatic transmission to a manual. If so how much work and money is involved. Thanks.

Re: Transmission: Auto to Mannual
You'll need a parts car because of the many little parts and the also the larger ones:
Transmission clutch kit flywheel torque tube shift rod/handle pedal assembly clutch master/slave shifter fork I'm sure I forgot something but thats some of the stuff. Hunt around for new/ used stuff would be in the range of $1500-$2000-just a guess |

Re: Re: Transmission: Auto to Mannual
Ah, sounds good. I new parts aplenty were going to be needed (like you said — donor car), but my main worry was what sort of labor was invloved. IE, whether or not the subframe was universal for both auto and manual, or if they got creative and made two seperate designs. Parts are one thing, knowing where to drill holes, mount linkage rods and bracing, crack firewalls and so forth is a different story.
