99 winstar electrical problems

I starting all at once having several electrical issues with my 99 Windstar. First turn signal indicator flashes very fast, interior lights won't go off after car is turned off. Both rear tail lights stay on after car is turned off. Intermittent fuel error with the gauge dropping to empty. Any suggestions?

Re: 99 winstar electrical problems

I am having the same problem on my 2001. I took the rear seats out and the carpet and found about 100 wires running under there and at least 10 of them are fried. I am trying to find out if this is a known problem by Ford I will be calling the dealer later.

Re: 99 winstar electrical problems

For your sanity, I suggess you purchase the model year specific (paper) elect diagram book from helminc.com. $35 -$50.

Part number for the '99 is FCS-12255-99. This is the one copywrited by Ford. It ain't perfect, but it's mighty handy.
