AMSOIL vs. Genuine Toyota Products
I am seriously considering AMSOIL for both of me and my wife's vehicles (we drive a 2000 Corolla LE and a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT) and really like what AMSOIL has for car care products. Who else here uses AMSOIL and can you share your testimonials with me? Thanks for your help. I also would like to know about folks who use genuine/OEM Toyota parts as well. I am 90/10 towards AMSOIL at this point.

We've just recently switched to Amsoil engine oil and transmission oil in my 2001 Toyota Corolla. So far, so good. Sorry, no long-term results for you yet.

AMSOIL is good but overpriced. Mobil 1 is just as good and less expensive.

Re: AMSOIL vs. Genuine Toyota Products
no way, AMSOIL is way better than Mobil 1, acually Mobil 1 is on the lower end of the scale... Castrol Syntech is very good as well and it sponsors Toyota racing.... so I am partial to it. Castrol rocks!
but yeah, I have AMSOIL in my Taurus, I figure it needs all the help I can get it lol! |

Re: AMSOIL vs. Genuine Toyota Products
I have used Amsoil for about 3 years. My chevy truck has 250,000 miles and still runs like new. I put the oil in it at 90,000 miles. I also get about 19 mpg. I like it so much that I reccomend it to everyone. The proof is in the tests. just look up comparison testing on motor oils. Amsoil is 100% synthetic, and of the best German base stockin the market.

Here's a thousand opinions:
http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi They are far from unanimous on AMSOIL. Others are equivalent and cost much less.

Whoops. Oh well
That's what happens when I start looking up the history of some member's posts.

I think we should let it die...
