CSC and paint troubles

Ok, I've been working on my Nissan R390 for a while. The interior is done and very nice looking. I'm working on the 2 tone paint job laying down primer, then the red down and then masking and spraying the black over it. The first try, my paint lifted both layers off the primer and some of the primer. 1st time in CSC. Tried again, this time no primer...only the black lifted. so CSC bath again. The paints are all the same type and i give about 2-3 days between paintings. What am I doing wrong? FYI, the red is Rust-Oleum enamal, the black is Color Place(walmart brand) enamal, and the primer is color place enamal.

Stick with one brand of paint. Try Krylon whie primer then use their Banner Red(a very good match) and then their Gloss Black and I bet you wont have that problem again. By the way Rustoleum is some of the worst paint around, stay away from it. I use Krylon regularly with excellent results.

Re: CSC and paint troubles

hmm...Ive used the red on 4 models without any problems including my F&F RX7. I'll try using all the same brands and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

Re: CSC and paint troubles

Never had problem with mine. I used testor paint by this time.

what kind of tape do you use ? how long do you wait between masking ? I know some primer don't work great and don't stick on plastic. Try using Tamiya primer.

Re: CSC and paint troubles

Fix the problem with this fabric spray paint. Has no odor, and dries permanant and soft.
Some of their deals, i painted the interior of my car Emerald took 10 cans.: http://www.fabricspraypaint.com/Defa...ic_Paint_Deals

The general info page- has some good info: http://www.fabricspraypaint.com/Simp...ic_Spray_Paint

When you order, you can through the site, but for bigger prokjects if you call them, not sure of their number they can get you a deal.
