Rca Jacks
What is the point of the RCA jacks that come with your aftermarket CD player. I know they are used when you hook up an amp. Also, a couple of weeks ago I put DVD players in my car and I was wondering if there was a jack that i can play sound from my DVD players into the RCA jacks in my cd player. I went to Radioshack and they said I needed a transmitter (RMF or sumthing like that.
If there is a jack, please let me know. Thanx for the help.

Re: Rca Jacks
Inni,
As you know the RCA's are an output. Some recievers have line inputs but if yours does not, an RF modulator is what you need. You install it in line with your antenna and it places the audio signal (intellegence) on a carrier frequency. Then the tuner in the radio receives the signal and removes (detects)the carrier and bingo theres your audio. |

Re: Rca Jacks
Pretty Nice thanx. I guess I'll get a RF modulator then. I'll prolly make it hidden in or around my dash or sumthing. Thanx

Re: Rca Jacks
Don't buy an FM modulator at Radio Shack, they'll sell you an FM transmitter (not the same thing). What you need is a device that has an RCA input, and goes plugs into the antenna plug on the deck. The factory antenna then plugs into the modulator. This allows you to use the input on the device with a dvd player or a game system or what have you by tuning the radio on FM to whatever the device is set to, usually in the high 80MHz range, depending on the unit and it's configuration. You can get such a unit at any car stereo shop, or Walmart.
