Question radiator fan has stopped 4 days and then works again?

I have 97 sebring(sweet car) where engine light comes on and upon checkin problem i find fan has stopped working, after days of running her this way i also find no service engine light and fan working again,
Is this a sticky relay switch or what causes this happen, because id rather see the problem fixed than this on and off fan action,
i do hear under the hood a hard sound like something is tryin 2 engage but cant!
anyone got suggestions ? id be most greatful!

Are you sure the two are related? Go to Autozone and have them pull the codes. If your fan is not running like it should it may be a faulty/bad connection on the temp sensor or a bad ground. Pull your fan out clean it and try to energize it. If your fan always works when the a/c is on I would lean towards the sensor.
