I gotta JadaToys F150 (ya, haha)... wondering about a motor/gear swap.
It aint' stock, that's for sure. Repainted in a Golden Sunset/Brunt Orange(nissan color) with a gold flake base.
All the stickers are removed, except for the Audiobahn stickers on the front/rear windows. (got rid of the spinners) COvered the window that seperates the drivers cab and the rear seat/speaker are with aluminum foil, then covered that with some irridessent (spelling? it's clear wrapping paper that changes colors at the angle you look at it). Got only 3 led's hooked up in the speaker area (5mm 2 Blues and a White) powered by a 9volt battery mounted in the front of the car. Will also probably add Blue Leds in the foglights and red leds in the mufflers. Been running on the old school "electricial tape" method for a while, but tonight I'm trying the pcv method. Alright........ my question is, is it possible to swap out the motors? (it's an 1/18 scale ). I'm not looking for top speed, just a lot of tourque. I've already taken the car completely apart repeatly, would it be best to just take the motor down the the hobby shop to compare the sizes? I was there on saturday and they had motors that looks about the same size as mine (1/18), ranging from $44 down to $15 Any suggestions? (other that get a REAL RC car.... I'll be picking up a Tamiya Silvia pretty soon........ the Jada car is just to give me something to do). Thanks

Hell no, not with hours I spent on the paint and interior lighting. lol. Another question........would adding more batteries (there's plenty of room for 3 9V or another 3 pack of AA's(1.5V). - could I connect the 9V's (even just 1) and connect the blk (neg) wire to the ground, and the red wire to the power wire to the motor/ or circutborard. Or, would I risk burning out resistors?

Adding more batts would increase the voltage, and destroy all the electronics. Face it. There is no way to make it go faster without spending hundreds of dollars.

That was sorta what I was thinking. I mean there's no way I'm gonna turn the $15 toy into a legit drifter rc, but was just wondering if there were any "tweaks" I could do to it for some more speed/tourque. Even if I blow the electrical system, I'll still have a damn good-looking 1/18th scale model car with a great paintjob and interior lighting system. I was also looking if I could possible fit one of HPI's Silvia Mini bodys (Dashin Silvia specificialy) onto the frame. I'm most likely just end up getting a TT01 350Z, and an HPI 200mm Silvia body and some +3/5 wheels.
