maint. required light on a 02 civic ex
First of all, it's great to be here !!
I have a 02 honda civic ex 4 door. I recently passed the 30,000 mile mark. My wife noticed the "maint. required" light is on. How do I reset it before she starts freaking out ??? What kind of tune up does honda do once a car passes 30,000 miles. thanks |

Re: maint. required light on a 02 civic ex
If its like my 02 si then its just an inspection kind of thing. It cost me like 60 bucks and they check everything EVERYTHING, so its not a bad idea to get it done if your not strapped for cash. They also put an additive in the fuel to clean out the injectors and after they put it in my car it felt almost brand new! If you want to just get the light off then hold down the trip odometer button and turn the key to on and hold it for about 10 seconds.

thanks sivic02,
I'll have to call the dealer and get a price on that tune up. Thank you for the quick response. |

Re: maint. required light on a 02 civic ex
if your going by the book....i believe a 30k service includes
-inspect/adjust drive belt (replace if necessary) -replace air filter -replace cabin air filter -change oil and filter -rotate tires (inflate to spec) -inspect front & rear brakes (replace if necessary) -inspect cv joint boots (repair/replace as necessary) -lubricate locks, hinges and latches on doors, hood, & trunk as needed i would recommend replacing the spark plugs too if haven't already done so in the past year |
