got my first rc...think i messed up already
alright i got the yokomo s-15. i finished building everything and to my knowledge, everything is built correctly. the only problem is the electric part. i got the Futaba controller with a speed control, reciever , a Tamiya Super Stock motor RZ and Sanyo 3600 battery pack. my problem is running it. i turned the controller on first then the car. turning works fine. but then i can't use the throttle. the wheels randomly start spinning. then i touch the throttle, it quickly stopped and then it starts going again. so i kept playing with the throttle and suddenly the motor stops and i see a spark. so i quickly turned it off. smoke is comming out of the motor. ........is it fried or what?? i want to know if the motor is ok and is it b/c i didn't set the controller right. any help is appreciated.

You need to adjust the speed control. They dont usually come preset. Adjust the neutral for the car. Its better to fry a motor than the ESC.
Also is there any CF?
