I was looking through the automarts & noticed that there were vans & cars called the Lumina; Was this a misprint? or is it real?
Why did GM make such a move (if real)?

GM came out with what they call APV vans or All purpose Vehicles.
The Lumina Van or APV debuted in 1990 as a GM "U" Body. The car Lumina is an "W" body.
Same as the Pontiac "Transport" that came out in 90 which is also the "U" Platform.
They were intended for medium size family where they did not want a full size van but needed more room than a car had to offer.
The lumina and pontiac is still around today as a U body, they just call them a different name, now the Chevy is a Venture Van and the Pontiac is Transport or Montana.
The Oldsmobile also had a Silhouette U van.
Hope that helps you.
