1998 lumina with about 120,000 miles on it. after alot of heavy thinking i plan to only replace tie rods. it seems alot of owners ain,t impressed with their new struts anyway. my honest, shady tree mechanic owns a lumina and installed "gabriel" his car and is highly unhappy with em.

Gabriel and Monroe struts many people complain about a wavy ride after installation. Its always best to stick with genuine GM replacement shocks and springs.
By replacing "tie rods", do you mean the tie rod ends? If so, here is a write-up you can follow.

thanks for that great write up tblake... and posting it here... wouldn't have found it otherwise... i don't venture outside the lumina and dodge ram forums here... once i get my engine together i need to do the brakes and outer tie rods, when i last bought tires they told me they were needing replacing.
