New Engine, Will it fit?

Hello everybody!

It has been a long time...

I have a 1994, 3.4l v-6, 5 speed manual transmission, 100,000 mile Camaro with a seized motor. I have located a 1995 3.4l v-6 that runs from a 1995, Camaro (vin number unknown) that had an automatic transmission. The price is right, but here is the question: Can I replace my motor (mated to a manual 5 speed) with this other motor? Is the mating surface between the automatic tranny the same as the manual one? Can I hope that a swap would go fairly easily, mountings the same, etc? I want to keep my 5 speed as I put a new clutch in just before the motor seized and I am not sure I want to convert to automatic.

So what do you think?

As always, thanks for any information you could provide. This deal isn't sealed yet, I am looking for the "pain in the but factor" before making a decision.

Take care! Jack

Well the engine deal fell through. Dbag listed the motor with free shipping and then reneged. Almost doubled the price.

I have looked into re manufactured engine suppliers with costs up to $1700, for a 3.4l v-6. I will be pricing local engine rebuilders soon, but do any of you know of a company to STAY AWAY from in the engine re manufacturing business?

Thanks again for your help!

Jack
