305 mod suggestions

I have a 1989 Iroc Convertible with a TPI 305. This is a fairly rare car with matching numbers. I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE THE ENGINE!

With that being said, how can i get an increase in horse power while keeping my engine "looking" stock? I do not expect a huge increase I just want a little more ump. I plan to add headers and upgrade the exhaust however, I plan to limit the external upgrades to just that.

Considering it is a convertible I am also not sure what is a safe increase in horse power.

I have been reading up n the 335 stroker kits and think this might be my best bet.

I welcome all opinions with the exception of " Take the 305 out and replace it with a 350" or anything of a similar nature. Unlike most people I respect the rarity of my car and want to keep it looking stock.

I guess what I want is a "Sneaky Pete", for those of you familiar with pool analogizes.

Thx,

well a 350 looks identical to a 305 but im not going to say change it out the headers and exhaust are a good start you could go with a bigger cam and some head work computer tuning port the intake a cold air intake (wont look stock but makes a big difference)and if your willing to do the tare down for the stroker do forged pistons and spray it you can hide the entire nitrous system if your clever
as for the fact that its a convertible if you plan on making a lot more power i would suggest frame ties
this all dependes on your budget the headers exhaust cam and mabey 1.6 roller rockers would be the best start thow
