Dillema?

I have a 2002 LS1 Ram Air Trans Am. I got a P0430 engine code. I replaced both O2 sensors on the bank2 side (passenger) I still get the same code. Both sensors were Bosh OEM replacements. Is there something else that could be damaging these sensors? Maybe a new one is bad? Car idles with a bit of a stumble but accelerates fine and hauls ass when driving on the roads. Which chip programmers can eliminate the O2 sensors?:runaround:

A code for a sensor does not always mean that the sensor is bad. For example, if you have an oil pressure gauge drop all the way to 0 that doesn't mean your oil pressure sending unit is bad, it means that you don't have oil pressure. Well, it could also mean that the oil pressure sending unit went bad but you'll get what I'm saying with that I think.

The more likely problem is your catalytic converter is not functioning correctly and you need to have that checked.

Ok so the sensors are not bad? What causes the P0430 code?

Car only has 30,000 miles. Could a cat go bad that fast?

According to the link I gave you it says to check for exhaust leaks also, do you have an exhaust leak?

I have no evidence of a leak. covered gaskets with sealent and hear no ticks or clicks associated with a exhaust leak?

Have your cat checked. It is possible for it to be bad after 30,000 miles. First though check your wiring going to the sensor. And ask on here how to check for voltage and all of that going to it b/c I don't know the procedure for that particular sensor. The whole time I was thinking about it can't be the sensor b/c you have a new one and same code before you changed to the new one, but it could just be the wiring though that is the problem going to the sensor.
