I just traded for a 1995 Z28 a couple weeks ago and today I tried getting on it hard to see how it would shift and it went way past red line and did not shift at all.
I did this from a dead stop.
I let off the gas and it shifted.
I tried 2 more times and it did the same thing both times.
If I drive it normally it shifts fine but kinda hard.
I have noticed that if the car has been running and is warmed up it shifts better.
If I start off while it's cold it gets up to 3500 RPMs before it shifts from 1st to 2nd and then it will go to 4000 or more and I have to let off the gas to get it to shift from 2nd to 3rd.
Any idea's what might be the problem??
The guy I got it off of said they had the tranmission replaced but I don't know how long ago that was.

i would try a fluid and filter change first and see if that helps. if not, something internal may be bad or set up improperly. trannys are a pretty complex item and the most insignificant little thing can cause a world of problems.

Could be a improperly adjusted TV cable. :2cents:

i was thinking that too, but doesn't the 95 have an electronic trans?
