Open Vaccum Hose, Parts Catalog Needed

Discovered today an extra vacuum hose with nothing connected to it in the left front fender underside. Trying to find an online parts catalog to look up what I am missing and what the tube should connect to. The line is not showed on the vacuum diagram on the car. It goes a ways and splits with one going to the auxillary port on the intake and the other I cannot see where it goes for sure. Do you know where I can look up parts on line to see a diagram? Anybody go an idea what is missing off my car?

It's probably supposed to go to the vacuum reservoir...is the res still there? It's located where you describe...

There is nothing left under there. I have been getting a check engine code for vacuum leaks and suspect this maybe where my leak is. I have no mounting bracket or anything under there except a vacuum hose.

Sounds like your res took a hike...

Do you have any trouble with vents on the dash not directing air where you want it, etc?

To be honest I do not drive it much. The changeover on vents may have seemed a little slow when I have driven it. Is that why I see a vacuum line teed off that looks to go into the fire wall? Does the canister do anything else? Can I just cap the line?

Plugging it would be a good idea at least until you figure it out.

The vac res provides some vacuum supply to keep all the vacuum actuated mechanisms supplied during low vacuum moments, like when you accelerate...manifold vacuum drops to zero or close to it momentarily...

When the reservoir cracks or gets knocked out or a line to it leaks, usually the first thing the driver notices is the vents going to default position (Def-Floor) when accelerating, or just not switching from the default position regardless of where the control is set....you'd have a slightly leaner idle too, which you may or may not feel...

The older ones had a lot more vacuum circuits operating different things..after '94 or so I think it's pretty much limited to climate control...

For future reference, it would help immensely if you would include your year, trim level and engine size.

Well like the last poster said you didn't provide any info about the year or engine size. This sounds like it is a vacuum line for your HVAC control. Plug it in to the vacuum T there you saw. On certain years, your Hvac T's off of I'm thinking the line to your EVAP.
