how hard is it to replace a harmonic balancer on a 2000 Pontiac Montana?

If I need to take it to a shop, what can I expect to pay? How much does a new harmonic balancer cost for this van roughly? Also how much time should it take to replace?

Thanks for any help !!!!

On removal: The vehicle has to be raised and supported.

Remove right tire & splash shield.

Place a pole jack under right side frame rail. Remove frame bolts.

Lower frame to access dampner.

Remove dampner bolt. You will need a puller to remove the dampner. You will also need a special tool to install the dampner.

The installation tool prevents damage to the dampner.

Torque dampner bolt to 76 ft. lb.

Re-install other components in reverse order of removal.

As to price call around or hit the parts stores in your area web sites. Or Rockauto.com

WHEN LIFTING AND SUPPORTING ANY VEHICLE USE PROPER AND TESTED LIFTING DEVICE AND SUPPORT DEVICES !!!!!!!!

DO NOT PLACE YOURSELF IN A SITUATION THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.

I replaced the timing chain cover gasket a month ago on my 99 transport. There is no need to lower the frame, it was easily accessible through the wheel well with the plastic spash guard removed. I used a chain clamp (vise grips with a chain) to hold the balancer (make sure you use a rag between the chain and the wheel to prevent damage) and used a puller to pull it off. I used a longer bolt with some oil on the threads and used my impact gun to install. Worked great for me.
