problems with my 01 GP after long driving

i just took a long travel with my 01 GP 3.8L SFI OHV(about 1500 miles), then i found something different after this travel.
First, i got a problem with starting the car. sometimes i turn the key to ignition position, i can feel the car shaking badly(i think it is the engine shaking) and i cannot start the car. So usually i pushed gas pedal to help the ignition
Second, this problem happened three times during last four days: when i driving at very low speed(less than 10 mph) the engine suddenly stopped, the low fuel light was on and I cannot steer the wheel. i started the car again and everything was then normal.
Third one: When I applied gas pedal at high speed(70mph) I can feel the car shaking.
please help me with those issues. thanks a lot

check your fuel pressure.

I had the same problem with my 01 GP GT same simptoms hard starting and stalling at low speeds it was a fuel pressure regulator. Before i found that this was the problem i spend $250 on other thing that were not nessisary to replace.

thanks for your reply. i think you are right, it is the problem from fuel system, the regulator or pump are dying. i also found that the idle speed is not stable, sometimes it will drop to low speed like 800rpm, but i never got that idle speed on my GP. Once in a while, the idle may jump to a high speed and then drop back.

Instead of speculating check the fuel pressure at the front fuel rail as suggested by tblake. There is a Schrader valve by the fuel pressure regulator where you can connect an automotive fuel pressure tester. By running and comparing readings at fuel pump prime and at idle with vacuum on or off at the fuel pressure regulator you may be able to pinpoint the fuel supply problem or at least rule it out.
Out of curiosity how old is the fuel filter?

Thanks for your reply, actually I don’t know how old is my fuel filter, I bought this car last Nov and I did not do any other maintenances except regular oil change. And there is another thing I forgot to mention, when I drove on interstate last week, the service engine light was on. I went to autozone to read the code: P1404 But the light went off itself when I restarted the car after reading the code. Do you think it is possible that the fuel system is dirty and some carbons block the IAC or other parts?

Since you do not know the maintenance history then start with basic tune up items like spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc. Even cleaning the throttle body and components like the IAC and MAF sensor may help so it never hurts to clean them with the proper cleaning chemicals.
The P1404 DTC is a GM extended DTC indicating an issue with the EGR valve flow circuits. Diagnostics has detected the EGR valve may be stuck open when commanded to be closed during testing. An EGR problem will cause driveability issues like you are experiencing.

ok, thank you, i'm going to all this things. But one simple quesion, i heared that the spark plugs on some V6 engine are not all on the front side, three of them are on the other side, which is not easy to reach. Is that right to my 01 V6 3.8 engine?

You have 3 spark plugs (cylinders 1,3,5) on the front bank which are relatively easy to replace and 3 spark plugs (cylinders 2,4,6) at the rear bank which are more difficult to replace due to the way the engine is mounted and the lack of sufficient clearance at the firewall but with patience and the right tools can be done successfully. You might consider saving the spark plugs for last and concentrate on the P1404 DTC since it is an obvious fault. Good luck!

so what usually cause p1404, fuel pressure issue or carbon block issue? And the light is not on now, but i may still have problem with EGR, right?
