Sup dudes. I own a 96 camaro ss, with the only mod being a catback. I have two questions. I believe the previous owner had been using Castrol oil, but is there something better for this type of car? Maybe make it run a little better after my next oil change? I heard something about royal purple. Any good? Alright, more importantly, what would be a great choice for a performance cam in this car? I drive this everyday in the summer here in MN. I'm looking for one that will give me a 30+hp gain but still be streetable. I mean I don't necessarily want my car to barely idle ya know, ha? I would really appreciate any (Good) info you have for my car. Thanks!

I use royal purple. and the LT4 cam is a popular choice. you could also call comp cams and get a custom grind done.

My friend switched to all Mobil 1 and swore he noticed a difference in his '97 SS. I swapped all in the Iroc I used to have and only noticed 2 more mpgs. Nothing else.

They get rebuilt by then. Usually 750k to a million. The longest I have ever personally seen was 1.3 million. They get new liners, pistons, skirts, bearings and a head (or heads depending on engine)
Rotella stinks bad. (in big trucks.....really, it smells awful)
