If you folks read my last post, you know that my '95 1.0 ran like crap with the valve timing retarded 1 tooth on the CAM gear. Has anyone tried ADVANCING the cam timing?...What did it do for HP & mileage...GEOZUKIGTI, feel free to ring in here,,,I know that you guys at team swift mess with mods...your opinion (and everyone else's) would be greatly appreciated...some people are after max HP, I'm after max gas mileage, without burning up anything...what works best?

One of the differences in an XFI cam is that it's advanced (I think) from the stock cam. I know Mike Cove sells his economy cam with an advanced pulley and the combination is pretty much the same as an XFI. The newer cars use the same pulley as the DOHC engine and therefore have two settings, one marked I and one marked E. I've heard that switching to the one the factory didn't use gives you a few degrees adjustment in the right direction for increased torque and mileage. TeamSwift is definitely the place for this discussion though. Read everything ever written by Superf1y (Mike Cove) and you'll be an expert.
