I only get 25 mpg highway with very conservative driving habits on my 2004 CRV EX. Does using cruise control help or hurt? What about using overdrive? I am original owner and car only has 37K.
Any suggestions welcome. I just paid it off so I am stuck with it. Who know gas would hit $4.25 pergallon?:banghead:

My 2005 CRV 5spd automatic is rated 22 cty + 27 hwy. I average 21-22 mpg on daily commutes to work which includes speeds of 60-75mph. The best I could achieve was about 24mpg hwy on clear roads @ 65mph on cruise. The EPA MPG figures were a major factor in choosing the CRV for an SUV and I feel your pain but a reply from Honda was "I needed to slow down and their MPG figures were calculated at 55mph". I get better mpg from my 280hp Nissan (26+ hwy) @ 65-70mph on clear roads. On a positive note I never get below 20mpg no matter how bad the traffic is, thus it is my "economy" car that gets me through any snow storm.
FYI: With rising fuel costs, I may have to stop using premium gas, but it makes the CRV peppier. The mpg may not be better with premium but I definitely do not have to push the motor as hard thus saving wear and tear on the motor.
