The car was running before, just rough. Drove about 10 miles and the care began running rough. Not accelerating past 45 and shakey. Pulled over noticed it was over heating. After parking it at home noticed tremendous slack in timing chain and the cause is probably due to jumping time. Replaced the water pump (since its on warrenty so why not) and put a new timing chain. It is timed correctly but it does not start. Car started even after parked at home until the work was started on it. It turns and turns but does not crank. Its a 93 3.1 with 205k on it. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Patience is wearing thin after two weeks of troubleshooting.

Have you tried disconnecting computer from ignition module (6 wire plug)& tried starting it that way? Is this a Cali. car or a Federal?

This puts the system into "engine basics" eliminating the computer from controlling the ignition sys.

By doing that I am not sure if it would provide power to the injectors? I will try that tomorrow and post the results of the try. thank you for your input.
