96 LeSabre - Almost Dies On Shift Change

I just had the ignition coil module replaced. It fixed the cold start difficulties I was having.

Now, I have had twice today, where I'm driving along about 30 mph and right when the transmission is about to shift, the engine hestitates as if it is going to die. I get a real quick flash from my dash panel lights, and then the engine kicks back in as if everything is fine. It does not seem to be idling rough or extremely slow.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
MikeS

Check those battery cables first! Do a search here and you will find many threads on how to check & clean the cables.

Just a little more information:

I have 135K+ miles on the vehicle. My mechanic doesn't seem to think it is the fuel pump.

I do not seem to have any problems when I first start it up of a morning. The problem seems to be when the engine is warm (driven for 15-20 minutes).

It is an intermittent problem. This morning, it actually died on me as I pulled away from a stop sign. The engine started right back back up.

It also hestitated on me as I was going about 40-45 mph - I got a lurch in movement, and I got a brief flash on all my panel lights. Then, it clears up and I was able to drive the last couple miles to my home with no problem.

Hope this helps.
