Right rear suspension dead?

the right rear something or other is broken on my focus :frown: when i jacked up the right rear the wheel stayed on the ground... what could possibly be broken that much? i've heard that the suspension is pretty simple back there but i of course know nothing of cars... is this going to cost me an arm and a leg?

i didn't notice anything .. parked.... then it sat for a day and then i went to drive it again and it sounded like the wheel was going to snap off :frown:

no1 hit my car so i'm guessing that it is something that just worked itself loose or something.. i have no clue :banghead:

Check for a broken rear shock absorber.

The inside of the strut (shock absorber) must be broken because that is the only thing that limits the range of movement. The spring could have broken and then the shock absorber inside the strut could have gone. Take it to one of the chain auto repair places that does brakes and front end work. They could tell you more than I can.

:headshake well i was going all frantic over nothing apparently :runaround:

girls shouldn't have to worry about this stuff :sly:

apparently there was an enormous block of ice lodged inside the suspension somehow .. once they chipped it out everything went back to normal

where could it possibly have been lodged to prevent my wheel from leaving the ground when i jacked it up? no idea...

so i spent lord knows how much on towing for the shop to say.. nothing is wrong with my car... good news.. but also embarrasing :disappoin
