Konig wheels

Bought those wheels I've been looking at today, paid $40 for them... there's one problem w/ them, other than the paint being fscked up.

One of them in cracked about 19-21 mm in two places less than 100mm apart on the rear bead, each about .5mm wide, from the top of the bead down into the "flesh" of the rim... I'll edit this w/ pix later, don't have time to now.

Question is: does anyone know a place in or close to Broome Cty. NY state that can/will weld that rim up for me?

I really don't wanna spend anymore time searching for a replacement for it, b/c they're discontinued.

Hey dude, I also got my konig wheels! My god were they better than I expected.. Heres a shot from my crappy camera phone just before we mounted them, I got such a steal...owned by a late 30's guy who has a suzuki swift that is always garaged and detailed constantly. With Hankook Ventus RS-2 Z212 tires. Oh and youll like this..METAL valve stems.

hahahahahh sweet deal @ the metal valve stems...

Mine came w/ Kumho Ecsta Supra tires, all 70% tread but one, minor camber issue on whatever car they came off from...

I've googled a few places to see if I can get them to weld it up, the cracks are actually about 1/4 of the wheel apart from each other, and equally long/deep to each other.. only problem is that the damn tires are still mounted, and Im not sure if taking the tire off will cause it to crack anymore, so I'm going to drill at the stop of the cracks before I take the tire off.. they'll have to do that when they weld it anyway, to prevent the crack from "walking the weld"...

I actually called OCC today to see if they'd do it, said they'd have to get back to me.. it's only a 3 hour drive, and wifey wants to go anyway.. would be a neat road trip, especially if I could get one of the Pauls to weld it up and let me take pics :D

I can't wait to get them on the car, but I don't wanna run that w/ the crack in it... if it wasn't so bad, I'd run it anyway, and just keep an eye on the tire/rim... but it's bad enough that I don't wanna.

The paint on them isn't what I thought it was... it's some kid's idea of a "tricked out wheel"... added green pinstriping tape over some nasty blue paint, and they're not even finished... so instead of getting the black chrome stripe treatment, they're prolly going to be black chrome all the way through, unless I can find some nice blue-ish tinted platinum base coat.

Dun really care if they match the car or not, since it will be black come spring anyway.

Any tips on ANY place that will weld them, that I can drive too from Broome CTY?... like within 3 hours drive... (about 160 miles)
