96 Cavy..No Start

Today my wife couldn't start our car. It was almost like when a battery is dead, no lights,no guages etc.. however when I press on the break pedal, I suddenly get power and the car will start.Any ideas??:banghead:

Check your battery connections first.

Someone told me it might be the passlock (theft) device since I had a dead battery.Any idea on how to reset this?
