Can anyone comment on "Bendix" brand brake pads?

I bought a pair of Bendix Brake pads and Bendix rotors for my car.
I was just wondering if anyone else has used them on their Lesabre and if they can comment on them.

Ok, since it seems that nobody has had the pleasure of using Bendix Pads & Rotors i'll be the first to post my experience in using them. All i can say is that since having my car i have had the brake rotors and pads replaced 3 times. The first two times my mechanic used Wagner brand pads and i think the rotors were the same. I was not satisfied with the stopping performance and the rotors would end up warping after 6 months then to have to change them after a year.
This time i opted to buy Bendix pads (Titamiumetalic) & Bendix rotors and have my mechanic install them. I am 100% satisfied with the difference in performance quality with Bendix on my 98 Lesabre. The car now stops effortlessly with minimal pressure on the brakes. The car now stops as if it has 4 wheel disc brakes and does so in a quietly manor.
Bendix will be used on me Lesabre for now on.
Cheers!

I am sorry for not having the time to comment on this sooner. :runaround:
Bendix rotors & pads are one of the few brands that are still manufactured in the good ole USA, or Canada. Bendix rotors are balanced and use high quality materials! Bendix parts, are commonly used on fleet & police vehicles, where “severe duty” service is required. Equal in quality & performance, would be Raybestos “SuperStop” or, ACDelco DuraStop (http://info.rockauto.com/ACDelco/DetailBrake.html) Brakes. Bendix, or Raybestos may supply ACDelco, not sure on that.
Most of the others, including Wagner, are “honcho en Mexico or China! Bottom line is; You get what you pay for!
BTW, I recently installed a set of Raybestos “SuperStop” Rotors (http://info.rockauto.com/Raybestos/fbSSrtr.htm) & Pads (http://info.rockauto.com/Raybestos/fbSSpad.htm) on my 96 Ultra and they are awesome! I am hard on brakes and have very little patience when it comes to cheap or poor quality parts!
Good luck with your Bendix selection. Be sure to let us know things are going in about six months. I think you made a good choice! :grinyes:

HotZ28, Thanks for your input. The boxes that the pads and rotors came in do read "Made in USA"
Almost brought a tear to my eye.
I'll definitely give updates on these brakes.

Thanks for the comment about Made in the USA for Bendix. I have started shopping for replacement rear rotors for 03. Rotors seem to be $16 or $40 or $90. the $40 were a company I haven't heard of from China and looked heavy. You can guess what the $16 rotors are...
The rear rotors on the 03 leSabre seem to be warped at times and don't seem to be a problem at other times. I want to check the calipers when I reset them to see if there's a problem on the rears. What do I look for? I know the rebuilt calipers were $100 each.
I put Bendix Ceramic on the front of 98 at about 110K I'd guess. I had put on the top line Raybestos rotors at 55K miles. Big difference. Also put on rebuilt calipers. One caliper was dragging and heating up one of the original equipment rotors.

I'm running the bendix semi-metallic pads on all four corners of my 2000 LeSabre Limited. Pad life is excellent but during cold weather they make a significant amount of noise. At low speeds in all temperature conditions they tend to sqeak. Stopping power is better than average and rotor wear is good. Next time I'll probably spring for ceramic pads to reduce noise. I've also noticed that I get some mild squeaking from the rear brakes even when the peddle is not being applied, I really havn't had time to investigate that further but I didn't notice it before the pads were changed. So far I've put about 20k miles on the pads and they hardly show any wear.

Are the Semi-Metallic pads the same as the Titaniumetallic?
I haven't had any problems with the Titaium-Metalic as far as squeaking goes. Very quiet

I use the bendix pads no problems with them here. I have also used the car quest brand thier premium line they work good also. Both brands are not made overseas, what you need is the made in canada or usa parts with the brakes. AS you know you pay up front for them, but it is worth not having the aggravation with the cheaper parts.

Have always used Bendix until I had brakes/and rotors put on my 2001 Caddy. The mechanic suggested that I switch to Raybestos (they have a new one that is ceramic and brake dust free). I agreed and it was the best thing i have ever done. Now there is no more black brake dust on my wheels and covers.
check them out. I don't know what they are except Raybestos but they have something else after them but I know they are ceramic.

'Quite-Stop' is the word you are looking for. Great stopping ability, and "no dust"! :grinyes: Click here (http://extranet.raybestos.com/usa/products.htm) for more info on Raybestos products.
