97 neon will not start, neeed help asap

well my g/f has a 97 neon and she parked 4 days ago and went to go start it again and it just clicks so we got it towed and the next day looked at it and tryed to start it for fun and it started, ok so yesturday it did tyhe same thing just a click, nothing, i put a new starter in same thing just a click. so i neeeeed helllp please.

Is the click you hear coming from the starter, or from the starter relay inside the fuse holder next to the battery? You might want to check for good clean battery connections, including the ground wires as well as the positive leads. If you replaced the starter, it should pull in - unless there is a bad starter relay. It might click, but not provide juice to the starter. If you have someone operate the starter, and have your hand on the solenoid on top of the starter, you should feel the coil snap the gear teeth into contact with the starter ring on the flywheel.
Also, check that the starter is seated flat to the mounting surface. Its possible to let the heavy cable from the starter get caught between the top of the starter solenoid and the bottom of the intake manifold. Then the starter will be angled, even when you have tightened the bolts down. Being slightly cocked can prevent the starter from going into contact with the teeth on the starter ring.

it is on the starte soleniod like a banging noise .
