Water Pumps Rebuilt or Dealer?

In a seaparate thread I started (Are Coolant Bottles on 1st Gen interchangable? ), I eventually posed the question: is it worth returning the pep boys rebuilt water pump I bought, and buying the factory pump. I originally intended to do the job myself, but then I saw that the water pump runs on the timing belt, and is not a "warm saturday afternoon" project. I decided to have my mechanic install it. My local mechanic has installed parts for me in the past, and he is willing to install this
My concern is that the neon water pump runs on the timing belt (a really stupid idea IMHO). If I am paying someone to install the pump, Paying a few more dollars now might make sense.

I used a water pump for my '96 Caravan that I purchased from Advance auto parts. I have 65,000 miles on this pump and all is well.

If you are changing the water pump, do the timing belt and idler pulley as well.
