Bypass AC?

My AC Pump on our 97 Lumina is toast.
It squeels while the car is running. I know there is no R134 in the system.
My question is this, Is there a way to stop the squeel without replacing the pump? or is there a belt out there I can get to bypass the AC?

Dealer says this model only came with AC, and therefore will not look for another type of belt.

here is a link to Dorman's website, which shows the part you need. It's called an a/c by-pass pulley, and should be available at Advance/Auto-Zone, etc...

I don't know how much you want to get into it, but unless the compressor locked up while running and shotgunned the system with metallic debris, it could be worth the effort to throw a salvage yard compressor and a couple of new o-rings on it, get it evacuated and get a suicide kit and charge it up...I know I can't live in summer without A/C here. Maybe different where you are.

Just take off the belt and use a piece of string to measure the length you need to skip the AC. be sure to have the correct belt routing. Then go to the parts store and tell them what length you need, they will fix you up.I've done it.
