Hello everyone,
I have a 89 cougar 3.8l thats been sitting far about 5 years(garaged). I started it about 2 years ago and it ran fine. recently I decided to sell it and I couldn't get it to start. I noticed the fuel gauge said "CO" for amount of mile to empty. I thought maybe it was out of gas, so I just put in a couple of gallons. Nothing!
New battery
Checked cap - all looks ok
I dont have a fuel pressure gauge
Any thoughts? - please help - I need to sell for more TOYS! :grinyes:

Look for a inertia fuel cut-off switch and make sure it is closed.

theres a fuel cut off switch in the trunk i believe in the drivers side try to push that and see if it gets fuel after that..setting that long it might be fuel pump sock clogged..and are you sure its getting spark? because mice like to chew wires 4 some reason...
