95 baretta low coolant light

I drained the radiator in a friend's 95 baretta, flushed it for 5 minutes; and then put the drain plug back in and filled the radiator and overflow resevoir with 50/50 antifreeze + water. Now the low coolant light stays on and the temperature gauge shows it is running hotter than normal. What did I do wrong?

1st) why do you have a vote:confused: ? 2nd) Change thermostat out to see if that fixes your problem. It could be stuck if it was dry for any extended period of time. In almost every experiance where I had a over heating car with plenty of fluid, it was the thermostat or the water pump. Both extreamly easy to fix. :D

Not to sound like i am moking you. But you did use the bleeder valves to eject all the air right?.

The gunk from the radiator probably clogged the coolant level sensor.< If the circuit is interrupted the low coolant light will come on.
