turn signal on 90

ok my turn signals wont work on my 1990 cav, inside or outside. the hazards do work though. i checked all the fuses and replaced the flasher but still nothing. right next to the canister shaped flasher there is a white square box that looks like a relay or something, does anyone know if that white box is any relevance to the signals? i tried looking at other posts but nobody anwered this problem definatly. aly help would be great. it is a 4 door sedan with the 4 cyl engine if that makes a difference. thank you

You may have a directional switch problem.That means replacing the whole left stalk assy and tearing the steering column apart.

turns out these have 2 flashers, the signal one is hidden under/behind dash/steering wheel
