Ok, well my mechanic seems to think that my camshafts on my JDM GSR motor might have a "flat spot" on them. Whatever. Anyways I was shopping around for some used OEM cams and on ebay I noticed this one seller that had some JDM cams for sale. According to him they are different from the USDM cams. He said that they have a groove in them. Anyways I was wondering if that is true and if so can I still install USDM cams in my JDM motor? It is a 96' b18c GSR engine. Please help!!!

It is a jdm b18c not b18c1 (usdm GSR) or b18c5 (Type R). Thanks for the help guys. So I'll probably just buy some used oem usdm gsr cams off of the L.A. recycler for less than $80 and get them ground or polished or whatever. I don't want to invest in any expensive aftermarket ones just yet because I might go turbo in the future. So I wouldn't know just yet which one's I would want or need. Anyways thanks again.

you see jdm motors, type r or regualr gsr have b18c stamped on the motor so if your only looking at the stamp you may just write it off as a gsr and not a type r.
