I have a 98 intrepid. Last year the heat did not get warm so i replaced the thermostat..didnt help, it turned out that there was air in the system so i got that out and it worked for awile and then got bad again. I change the cap to the coolant resevior and bleed again and this seemed to help rest of winter. Fast forward to this year and it seems same thing is happening. Is there another point i should check to see if air is getting in?
Also, whenever I turn more than about 10 degrees i get this metal on metal squeeking. I just changed the break pads and the rotors are fine. I also just had both PC joints?( dont know if that is the name, they help hold the wheel and everything in place and r very expensive to replace as i found out the hard way) replaced. could it be berrings?
any help would be appreciated.

update...I had it running this morning and it did not heat up but i turned the temp all the way down to low manual and then turned it up and the temp went up. But now it wont get cool unless you turn it all the way down to low manual again and it will only stay cool there. Is this electrical? The display goes on and off to from a lose connection so i dont know if that is related

hate to tell you this, but auto climate controls on most Chrysler LH vehicles has always been a weak spot. Chances are you could have a bad head unit. And they ain't cheap & rare. If you find one, expect to pay upwards of $500 or more. There are two ways to test the head unit and see if it's acting up. 1) Go to your local Dodge dealer and have them test the unit by connecting to the vehicle's diagnostic link connector with the Chrysler DRB III scanner. 2) Turn your thermostat to full cool, defrost, have the fan on any speed and press & hold the EBL (rear window defrost) button. The A/C light will flash and on the screen, it will say "AC00", meaning that it's in diagnostic mode. It will then calibrate itself to find any errors and will display codes in the screen. Codes can range between 23 and 51 and will say "DONE" when finished.
