95 vtec head on a 00 block

I am about to swap my 95 obd1 h22a head on my new 2000 h22a4 block. I have a few questions first. I am going to be taking the head this weekend to get a complete redo and mil'd. Then once I get it back I will be putting it on the a4 block. Now since there were diffrence with internals to produce more power in the 93-96 vtec and 97-01 vtec, do I have to get the head worked to certain spec? Also are there any problems that I might potentially run into?

<just a thought>

I want to put a set of new h22 type S piston on this block that I have in my gerage before I slap the head on. Now that's going to bump up the compression quite a bit. Is the 11:1 compression good for every day driving or will I have problem. I understand that with the std h22a type S pistons that they should just bolt right up to the stock rods etc., but when I slap the head on will I have any issues?

thanks alot in advance for any and all help........

it depends on how much you mill the head. I would clay the pistons to make sure the clearance was good. Just put the head on there. There's no spec to be done.

Considering the type S pistons came factory in the type S prelude, i would think that it is perfect for DD.

Yep, you shouldn't have any problems.

And yeah, those pistons will be fine...just use good gas.

so no issues with the high compression since it will be a daily driver and i can use the h22a4 stock connecting rods ?
thanks to you both
