what is the actual check engine light? why is the throttle body shot?
you can try ebay for much cheaper or pick one up from autozone for $100 - $300 depending on brand. they all work the same way. put it in yourself which will take you about 30 mins and you just saved $700 - $1000 instead of going to honda. ps, dont forget to get a new gasket................$10 - $20.

Hi:
I just had a similar problem with my 02 CRV at 65,000km (about 40,000 miles).
I bitched to my dealer (see earlier post) and was told Honda and the dealer would split the part if I paid the labour.
It sounds like a grey warrenty issue to me.

Hi,
I just learned yesterday that my "03 Honda CRV" needs a new throttle body, too. I was told this by my private machanic and they suggested that I bring to the dealer. They gave me a copy of the print out (hook it up to the computer) and it stated that " Certain throttle bodies become contaminated due to a manufacturing defect".
So, now I brought it to the dealer and am in the process of trying to have them repair this. My question is that if it's a manufacturing defect why should I have to pay for this repair? I don't know if anyone has any suggestions for me regarding this.

Do you know what the problem really is? There are several sensors on the TB and honda recommends replacing entire TB, sensors included, if any of the components fail. I had problem that sounds the same as yours and turned out to be a throttle position sensor. I bought the sensor and installed on the TB, all works fine. TPS was $29. Easy to do.
