well this past wednesday night/thrus morning some people had the odassity to break into my car, and jack my alpine headunit, capacitor, 1000watt amp and 2 audiobahn 10s. this was in my driveway, in a very nice 2/4 year old housing developement. being the extremly secure car that it is.....(sarcastic) theres got to be a way to keep people from using a slim jimm. i thought about replacing all the doors to go all power, and pull off my trunk pop latch. other than that if i replace all my stuff it still leaves a headunit vulnerable, and amp and anything else not secured. anyone have some good ideas?

bottom line, if someone wants to break into your car to steal your stuff, they are going to. i had friends that would go to the downtown birmigham area and break into porches, ferraris, lambourghinis... and steal their stuff. best bet is to park it somewhere safer, and dont advertise what you have (hard with the system you had)

yeah.. get yourself quiet when getting close to home. Also you could get some really dark tints on your windows and get some alam system. I recomend the viper one that tells you on the keychain what's going on and also is like a radar. It goes of wen someone gets really close to the car but doesn't allowe him to get to touch the car.

Get yourself an alarm that comes with a pager. When the alarm goes off, the pager goes off with it. As far as keeping people out, damn near impossible. The neons frameless windows leave it subject to an easy predator. Try getting a radio that you can pull out, but as far as the rest of the system goes, BOLTS, lots of them and big ones.

ill definately look into the paging/alarm system and the dark tints.

i had an idea last night on my way home from work, i thought well if you welded a glob of medal to each bolthead, and screw to each sub and mount the amp under the box and put legs on it, bolt it to the car and weld the screws down, i guess that might just leave the HU vunerable to theft. i think im also going to set up a miniature security camera hopefully and hook that to my pc and just mount that eye outside by the garage dr. but i really dont think ill take that big of a step until i get another dsm.

least my subs werent brand new, almost 1 1/2 years old and the subject of the worst possible conditions, i blew one any way...but a 350$ 1,000 watt lanzar heritage amp and nice alpine hu they got away with.

im pretty sure i know it was someone in my neighborhood too, because my cds were not stolen. i have lots of rock/rap and hip hop.

the funny thing is that in my console rest my faceplate case, and nice phillips head screwdriver and (garage door opener) *access to thousands and thousands of dollars of tools. they broke my face place case put it in my glove box and stole my good screwdriver! idiots!! ;p

i sure miss my beats, that gay a$$ stock stereo even with my sweet audiobahn Xovers that i hardwired to the stock harness helps but going to 250watt 6X9s and tryin to push 2 6 1/2 subs and tweeters...its not enough juice =( thx for your input.

NO, run do not walk away from Commando crap. Goto www.directed.com and look for the closest dealer to you. They didn't become the best in the bizz by mistake.

The paging alarm are a good start but you'll need merc. tilt switches on the hood and trunk. I'd also go with a battery back up and prox. sensor too. Remember that even the most expensive alarm will need extras like above to become real effective. The end result though is if they want it, they'll probably get it.
