haze on composite headlights???

HI all....
Just inherited a 96 metro LSi
It has a light haze on the headlights that make them a lot dimmer going down the road than they should be...
anyone have any experience removing this haze? odd thing is, when the lights are wet they look crystal clear, but when they dry the film is back.
any info would help, thanks!

I used 320 grit first, then 1000 grit, then polishing compound. It made a big difference.

sand the film off? seriously?

I never thought of using the super fine grit paper, that would work. I used a coarse polishing compound on a power buffer.

320 is too coarse...fer me that is. Try a 1000 first, then 1500 or 2000.

Then use a rubbing compound with a buffer, then Meguires Clear Plastic Polish again with a buffer.

Makes them look like new, on the outside surface at least. Use a big long Q-tip to get the insects and spider webs outa the inside.

Google "micromesh" You want the 12000 grit. This stuff was developed to remove scratches from aircraft windows. My 12" x 12" sheet cost $13 including shipping, but it IS worth it. (clearer than brand new)
