Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. My 16 year old son has a 95 Jimmy with electronic 4wd shifting. The push button shifting buttons stuck when he went to put it in 4wd while sitting at a stop light. He was able to get it back to 2wd mode and when he went to put it in drive the shifter was stuck in netural. The shifter does move but does not shift. We towed it home and replaced the push button shifter on the dash. After examining the button assembly we found out that it had some broken parts inside. You can hear the tramsmission click from 2wd to 4wd when pushing the 2wd/4wd buttons. But the shifter on the steering column is still stuck in netural. Is there a reset button or fuse for the shifter or would you think this is a solinoid problem of some type? We are going to take it to the repair shop but wanted to get some kind of idea of cost before gettiong it there. The thing has 225,000+ miles on it but it is in really good shape. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

No, the transfer case is stuck in neutral or between gears.
Cause is a defective vacuum switch or the electronic transfer case encoder motor has seized up and is not shifting properly.
Very common on our trucks.

You're looking at about $50-60.00 for the vacume actuator and I have seen on Ebay, the motor goes for about $220.00.
