there high 14's low 15's... 3000 GT Twin Turbo would kill a LUDe anything else Lude would KILL!!! hahahahaha

consistant low 12's. '98 prelude sh, with cai, dc sports headers, greddy cat back, apexi vtec afc, 8mm spark plug wires, hyper ground wires, nuspeed strut bars, plus a few of my own secret mods. everything else is stock. hit 11.8 sec once, but that may have been a mistake. only problem is that my lude is now non streetable and idle hunts like crazy! no power at all between 1000 to 3000 rpm but after 3000, a stock 3000 gt vr6 had a hardtime keeping up!

well if it's non streetable and you make power that high, you obviously have like a stage 2 cam or something, so that's not too secret...oh, and it's a 3000GT VR4, not vr6.

like i said everything else is stock. and you're right, its vr4. was thinking about the golf vr6 that couldnt catch up n turned the corner.

well if your claiming ludes to run high 14's to low 15's... then im right in there bc i ran a 14.8 and consistantly ran 14.9 .... my 3000gt is a 94 BASE model

oh really, so how do you explain the 93 lude and the 98 lude that tried to smoke my bro on the freeway, and got smoked hella bad. i was with my bro and we had a nother guy in the car. the ludes were with the drivers only. from 65 to 120 put numerous school bus lenghts between us. btw my bro has a 98 hatch with b18c1 with intake and exhaust.

oh and btw ull kill that prelude. dont get me wrong preludes are nice cars, but if i had one it would be force fed(turbo).

stock vtec ludes run high 14's. So we should rephrase and say a vtec prelude will beat a stock 3000GT SL. the 3000GT would beat the Si and lower models. And those times are also for the 4th gens. The fifth gens were all vtec, but they were heavier, and I don't think they will hit the 14's stock.

yes i have a 93si h2.3 and run a 15.7 over and over again but never any faster i have gone slower but thats the fastest so far

Those Ludes you beat, were either non-Vtec or were in fifth gear...and you only imagined that they were racing you ;)
It's happened to me a few times where I am accelerating normally and then realise that the 4.0 V8 that I'm passing is actually "tits-out" trying keep up.
I kept up with a Ferrari 360 the other day because he couldn't be bothered to change down (then we hit 120mph and he shot off) but I don't go around saying that my car is as quick as a 360.

Prelude= 200hp 155tq 3000lbs
3000GT (nonturbo)= 220hp 200tq 3300lbs

With numbers that close it's better to just race and find out who's faster. It'll be up to the driver.

IT DEPEND...FAST CAR WITH SLOW DRIVER = LOSER

its a drivers race with the 3kgt having a bit more of an edge (rwd/tq).

btw, dont ever compare a swap of any kind to another stock car. thats just stupid.

my best run so far is 15.416@91.89

i'm sure i can do a little better if i keep improving my launch. still trying to find a style thats just right. my mods are in my sig.

P.S.: my cyl. #1 is misfiring, and i'm still running that. and my compression is around 120psi average (should be 200psi), and the engine has 109k miles. imagine one in better condition ;)

i was in a 3000gt base model, and we raced a 92 prelude si, all the prelude had was an air intake, he also had a passenger....but he beat us WITH AN AUTOMATIC. we tried it 4 times, he even drove the 3000gt, still same thing, the prelude beat the gt everytime...

well have any of you prelude guys actually ran in the quarter?

My best was 14.972 at Infineon Raceway. But my usual run is a 15.0-15.1

To tell you the truth it will be down to whoevers the better driver.

I have a prelude si h23 and ran 16.011 at 87.1 mph with short ram intake and a factory clutch with 155,000 miles on it. However, I know GSR's are faster than my car. If I had a vtec, that's a different story.

never ran a quarter, but i can get low to mid 9s in the 1/8

I finally decided to take my car to the track. I ran a constant time of 15.8 @ 89 mph. I couldn't get it to stop spinning of the line. The track isn't the same as the street! My car isn't a v-tec but has beat two of them from a roll. The guys probably sucked at driving though.
