This Jimmy has OBD2. ABS light is on - a mechanic with a snap on code reader said its code: C1284 and has something to do with a Yaw sensor - lateral accelerometer bias malfunction. When I call dealers in the area, neither one ever heard of this. I know it has something to do with anti-rollover technology. Any advice on part number - or where the damn sensor is located. DESPERATE!

I have a similar problem with my 95 Jimmy. The light has been on for over a year... I normally don't take my truck to a dealer for service, but my fuel pump died in the middle of a move so they charged me $1k to replace the pump and sender. Since my truck was already there, I asked them to look at the ABS code. They said the hydraulic unit needed to be replaced and they ordered a couple units, all the wrong one. On 95 Jimmy the control module and hydraulic unit are one piece. I had the feeling they didn't know what they were doing and just replacing parts unit it fixed. They quoted me another $1K to fix it. The code doesn't have anything to do with a "yaw sensor", just communication error in the ABS computer. Every once in a while the ABS passes its test, and the ABS Brakes work proberly. This may be just a bad connection in the ABS wiring. I going to check this out when I am done moving...

I'm sorry, but $1000 for a fuel pump and sender replacement?

Are you fucking kidding me?

And you wanted them to keep on working on your truck?

Jesus mercy christ, you got ripped off royally.

Now to the ABS problem, in most cases the sensors in the front hubs get dirty and need to be cleaned.
